48th NAACP Image Awards

The 48th NAACP Image Awards took place last night, and as always, it is an important opportunity for us to recognize, celebrate, and honor the talent of people of color. It means the opportunity to recognize Taraji P. Henson for her performance in Hidden Figures by awarding her Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture, despite the Oscar snub.  It means the opportunity to celebrate great films and television not being mentioned in the Emmy and Oscar discussions, like Southside with You, The Birth of a Nation, and Queen of Katwe.
