What Kind of Father?

So Meg Fitch goes through with what they want in exchange for her daughter, $11 million, and all she gets in return is a picture of her daughter and further instructions to plant a phone in the FBI headquarters. She called her sister to admit what she had done and seek help, but it turned out she just called her to plant the phone.

On the other hand, the son of the Pakistani Ambassador was the first child to be released. The Pakistani Ambassador received a call from a planted phone an was instructed to kill someone in order to get a key card to enter a room in what seems like the basement of the Pakistani Embassy. Dunn and Finley arrive shortly before the Pakistani Ambassador was going to move forward with the instructions, because they found the secret service agent who called in sick the day Finley replaced him. It turns out he received coffee from the other agent, Hurst, and then woke up tied up in the a motel room with Dunn and Finley there. Yes, he's been knocked out for days. When asked if Hurst was acting strange he noted Hurst took a 60 minute personal break, which turned out to be at the Pakistani Embassy. However, everyone seems to be thinking Hurst is being forced to do all of these things, and it seems this is accurate. Thomas Gibson is forcing Hurst to write out Gibson's notes, so as to frame Hurst for everything. Thomas also throws Hurst in the "hole" when he gets upset, because he's not allowed to see his child as promised. He also mocks Thomas' struggling relationship with his daughter. More on that in a second. Anyway, Dunn and Finley go to the Pakistani Embassy to find out why Hurst was there. They speak to the ambassador who admits to speaking with Hurst, but lies about what they talked about. He tried to say it was about security for the trip, but Finley points out Hurst would have spoken to security, not the ambassador about such a thing. Then, noticing the ambassador acting strange, Dunn asked him if he had received instructions from a cell phone planted in his office. Before long, the ambassador admits to receiving the phone and instructions, and sought their help in completing his instructions.

Rather than kill the person with the key card, Dunn pretends the ambassador is holding her at gunpoint, and then Finley hit the person from behind. They use the key card to open the door in the basement and find what seems to be American soldiers laying unconscious with IVs in their arms. They also found a walkie talkie giving out CIA information. As the FBI brings the soldiers out, Gibson uses the phone planted in the FBI headquarters, by Meg, to cut all FBI communications. Put on alert by yet another strange occurrence, Finley realizes the voice of one of the paramedics matches  the voice of one of the original kidnappers. He repeats what the kidnapper said to him during the kidnapping, and realizing he was caught, the kidnapper and other "paramedic" pulled out guns. Dunn and Finley of course killed them first. So plot was thwarted, but Gibson changed his order to kill the ambassador's son and allowed the son to be returned to his parents. This of course will only encourage parents to follow instructions, because they will also assume they can get their child back. Though I wonder how long Meg will follow instructions, given she's already done two things and still hasn't received her daughter! Gibson told her he had much more for her to do. So we shall see.

I can't forget to mention Gibson allowing the enforcers to slap his daughter and her friend! They told everyone to lay down and be quiet when they hear drones. Realizing no one would be able to pay a ransom for them, Gibson's daughter and her friend decided they would make noise the next time a drone searches for them. Unfortunately, the next drone they heard was actually just a test to see who would try to make noise. Gibson gave the enforcer's permission to slap the two around. Yea, what kind of father?? Shortly after he returns to the group, pretending to be a victim. He finds his daughter and finally gets what he's been yearning for, an embrace form his daughter. SMH! She is brave girl though, when the enforcer later moved as if he was going to slap her again, she didn't even flinch!

How far is Meg going to go? How many parents are going to follow instructions after seeing one of the children returned home? Is the president really going to put the U.S. before the life of his son?

Crisis - Pilot Recap

Though I didn't get to attend the screening of the pilot episode of Crisis on the big screen, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it Sunday on my own tv! I initially thought it would be more like a Law & Order show with different crimes each week, but it's more like one of my other favorite shows, The Event (hope I didn't just jinx it with the 1 season bug!). So I look forward to how this story line develops.

I also like how they presented a character that a predictable show would have made the villain immediately, but made him a victim and later possible hero. AND THEN...they made him the villain!!! It was awesome!! Yes, I said AWESOME! LOL.

I am so excited for this show, because shows like this allow for each character and story line to develop into something that will keep the viewer on their toes (think Scandal). They already dropped some bombs on us. FBI agent who's niece is one of the kidnapped children is really her mother. Father who is a chaperon took the blame for some type of horrible incident that led to several deaths to protect his daughter who was threatened by a sniper hired by his best friend on her birthday. He was characterized as a disappointment and weak, and now he seems to be the brains of the operation. What's the significance of the one child that got away with Agent Finley (Lance...moment of silence for his fineness, lol)? The villains really want him. All the children are children of people with a lot of power, and the bad guys are calling them up with instructions they must follow to save their kids.

So who's in on it? Who's going to turn on the others to try to save their own (and likely fail)? What's the dirt/background that's eventually going to be revealed on Agent Finley?

I can't wait for the next episode!!!
