BMRC Speaks... Regina King

Regina King was first introduced to me and the rest of the tv world thirty years ago, as Brenda on the late 80's sitcom 227. One of my favorite shows growing up! After the show ended in 1990, Ms. King went into movies, starring in classics like Poetic Justice and Friday. She was also in one of my favorite movies, Higher Learning. And we can't leave out A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Ray, and  the voice of Riley and Huey Freeman on The Boondocks! If you check out her film and television credits, you'll see that Ms. King hasn't missed a beat since her debut back in 1985.

In more recent times, she is known for her work on Southland, which she starred in from 2009 to 2013. She also made her directorial debut on one of the episodes in the final season of the show. The same year, she also directed the made for tv movie, Let the Church Say Amen, and the documentary, Story of a Village the following year.

But what's most exciting, is the great work she's putting out in 2015. She is currently starring in ABC's American Crime and filming a new FX comedy "Pariah," which she is slated to star in. On top of all of that, she directed a Scandal episode AND 4 episodes of Being Mary Jane! I can't wait to see what she'll be gifting us with in the future!
