And the Winner is Part 2

At this year's Primetime Emmy Award Black women Rocked!

"Bessie" won for Outstanding Made for Television Movie!

Queen Latifah was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for "Bessie."

Dee Rees was nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries or Movie for "Bessie," as well as Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries or Movie.

Khandi Alexander ("Scandal") and Cicely Tyson ("How to Get Away with Murder") were nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

Niecy Nash was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Getting On.

Regina King won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for "American Crime." (Check out this post to BMRC Speaks on Regina.) Angela Bassett ("American Horror Story") and Mo'Nique ("Bessie" ) were also nominated for this award.

Uzo Aduba won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Orange is the New Black, making her the first actress (Black or otherwise) to win for the same role in both Comedy and Drama categories!!!

For the first time, two Black actresses were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Taraji P. Henson for "Empire" and Viola Davis for "How to Get Away with Murder." And Ms. Davis became the first Black actress to win in the category!!!



Black women were making HERstory at the Emmys this year!!

Black men were getting some Emmy love as well.
