Empire - Episode 3

Well, Old Salty  (homeless guy) saw Lucious kill Bunkie, and he ID'd him to the detective. But Lucious had Andre get info on the witness, Old Salty, from his contact at City Hall...or should I say his mistress...and should I add...the woman his wife likes to role play as? So does that mean his wife knows he's messing around with the Deputy Mayor? [O and back to the main point, will the homeless guy live long enough to testify? Probably not. I mean within ten minutes of the episode Lucious beat an artist's manager with a cane for suggesting he would demand his artist get what is in her contract. And he did kill his close friend, and close cousin of his ex-wife and sons...who by the way had Gladys Knight singing at his funeral).

Speaking of Lucious' sons' sex lives, did Hakeem call Camilla (Naomi Campbell) "mama" when they were messing around?? Not "mami," but "mama" repeatedly. Definitely have to be related to his mommy issues, after all, Camilla is an older woman. I mean the way he said "mama,"...it was just so incestuous...

Looks like Jamal has had enough of Lucious "buying his obedience." He and Michael packed their bags and left the apartment, and then the episode ends with him saying he's going to take his dad's empire. And he probably can. As he said, he's his dad on steroids. He took a song his father tried to arrange and actually completed a really good arrangement, a feat his father apparently couldn't do.

Thanks to Anika having Cookie spied on, we learn she's working with the feds to take down someone named Frank, not Lucious. But she covered it up by portraying the fed as her parole officer. I wonder if Puma (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) is going to come back for more episodes as a potential Cookie love interest. When Lucious heard Jamal playing Puma's song, originally written for Cookie, he seemed a bit bothered...jealous b/c Puma could have a single Cookie this time around? Or just nostalgic about him and Cookie back in the day?
