MJ tells David she prayed, and she and God decided 1 of 2 things is going to happen. She'll be pregnant and they will have a mixed family or she won't be pregnant and they are done. He is bothered by her not allowing his feelings and desires to be a part of the decision. MJ is unmoved though. She continues to clean her house and puts on some Badu. She pours out her alcohol...she was tempted to take a drink...but went ahead and threw that last bottle out too.

This is what MJ tries after learning about it from a therapist on her show. Hmmm...I may try this...
David complains about his situation with MJ to Chris, but Chris is tired of the story. They've had this conversation numerous times. He also checked him on trying to use MJ as a reason why he doesn't date Black women. First, he started by pointing out his mother and wife are both Black. Secondly, MJ doesn't represent all Black women. Third, David and MJ's issues have nothing to do with her being Black. It has everything to do with them not stepping up and getting their act together.
Meanwhile, MJ goes to talk to her niece. Her critique of a dress Niecy has on leads to Niecy saying MJ doesn't think she's smart or beautiful...causing MJ to apologize. But Niecy lets her know her apologies are unnecessary, because she no longer cares about her aunt's opinions.
When Kara confronts MJ for walking out on a brainstorming meeting, MJ reveals she wants the Talk Back session to be on stories she cares about, specifically dealing with the Black community and Black women. Kara questions if she's more concerned with building her brand than the show, and MJ says maybe she is. Shortly thereafter MJ calls Nichelle about getting her assistance with working on her brand. She leaves a voicemail, but then she calls again when she gets home. Staying in the spirit of her voicemails to Nichelle last season, MJ proceeds to hash out her thought process on the voicemail and essentially tell Nichelle they really aren't friends and it wasn't a job offer...all in a calm, I'm just talking out loud to process my thoughts and forgot I was leaving a voicemail for you (or at least it's only secondary to me thinking out loud) type of way! LOL!
The next day MJ and Kara meet with Greg to discuss her desires for Talk Back, or Talk Black as he referred to it. MJ stood her ground on her position, even telling him they should review the contract about her having final say on what is discussed on her segment.
Val randomly stops by MJ's. She says she's worried about MJ after hearing from Chris that she tried to get pregnant by David. MJ reveals she's not pregnant. Then she talks to Val about her starting to work on cleaning up her life. Val asks if she's done with David...Yes...Val asked if she told David she's not pregnant...MJ proceeds to text David a one liner saying she's not pregnant. Val tells her that's foul and she needs to process it all. Which leads to MJ saying she's angry that the man she loves is having a baby with another woman.
Meanwhile, PJ visits David to discuss their business partnership. When David receives the text from MJ his whole position on the business changes. He tells PJ he and MJ are done and he can't be a business partner with PJ. PJ gets upset and tells David the issue is him...going so far as to say...does he think having David's sloppy seconds is what they want for MJ.
Here I thought MJ was embracing her natural hair, but then she calls her stylist and finds out her stylist has to cancel on her. Meaning...she can't get her weave back in in the morning as planned. Out of desperation she convinces Niecy to come over and do her sew-in for her. But not until she takes a dip in the pool to get her real hair wet! I can relate...will be doing that this Saturday in fact...LOL. She ignores a call from David. She then goes on to tell Niecy not to put her on a pedestal, because she can't even be comfortable going to work without her weave...something about not wanting to be ordinary. She then offers Niecy a glass of wine...she's 19, but MJ convinces her she's grown enough to have some given her 2 kids and 2 baby daddy's... Niecy then tells her aunt she really worries about her.
Later she listens to David's voicemail which essentially says her plan has been to push him far enough away that he won't come back and she's finally done it. [We also see a clip of him telling his fiance what happened]. Then cue MJ doing the carefree, unbothered by men, dance...also known as the dance done by Liv right before she got kidnapped at the end of last season. I see what you did there Being Mary Jane. Or is it just common for women to breakout in carefree dance when they free themselves of toxic relationships? Ha!
