Ice Cube's Rolling Out's Facebook Live Interview

With his new film Fist Fight set to premiere today, Ice Cube sat down for an interview on Rolling Out's Facebook Live to discuss his new film and his experience as an actor and rapper.  You can view the interview here

Ice Cube was drawn to the film's premise, specifically the unique take on fights at schools by having the teachers fight instead of the students. He also felt there was a good combination of people, with Charlie Day and Tracy Morgan. Ice Cube has liked Charlie Day's comedic style since seeing him in Horrible Bosses

The experience Ice Cube hopes audiences have at Fist Fight and his other comedies is one where they escape their hectic lives for a moment of fun! He believes creating a film is based on a theory that the audience will like it. Sometimes the theory is right, and sometimes the theory is wrong. He is of course most proud when the film gets it right!

As for his jewels of wisdom for a career in the music industry:
  1. NEVER be oblivious to an opportunity!
  2. NEVER sign your publishing away (no matter how much they offer you)!!
  3. ALWAYS know your worth! When someone shows interest in you, they're not doing you a favor. You must have some type of talent.
  4. BONUS: Learn the business while you're waiting on a deal!
