2018 Golden Globes

At the 75th Annual Golden Globes Awards, Sterling Brown became the first African-American actor to win in the Best Actor in a TV Drama Category for his role in This is Us, and Oprah Winfrey became the first African-American woman to win the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement! Watch their acceptance speeches below:


"So what I appreciate so much about this is that I'm being seen for who I am and being appreciated for who I am, and it makes it that much more difficult to dismiss me or dismiss anybody who looks like me."





"I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon....What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have....For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up!"
