Being Mary Jane, Season 2, Episode 1

Mary Jane is back, and she comes back right where she left off. The episode starts with her coming home after her conversation with David at the end of last season. It transitions into a dinner party where we realize MJ is not taking losing David too well. It turns out one of the couples at the small gathering are actually David's friends, and we soon realize MJ really invited them to get information on David out of them. She goes so far as to meet the woman to apologize for going off on her at the party, but once again questions her about David. The woman refuses to share information about David and the new woman in his life, and suggests MJ call him. MJ refuses to, despite claiming she's asking them about him for closure. It gets worse, she goes to their house! O...note she accidentally butt dialed David, but said nothing when he answered. Seeking closure, without talking to David, she goes to the couple's house! She claims her need for closure outweighs any since of pride. The husband is clearly annoyed by her actions and does not hold back on expressing this in front of MJ, including saying he already told David about it. He then did what he calls is the grown up thing to do; calls David. Forcing MJ on the phone, she gets the news from David (he's expecting).

She leaves to go home, but decides not to go in as she overhears her niece talking with her brother about her disdain for living under her grandmother's roof. Her grandmother, MJ's mother, went off on Niecy about living in her house, being jobless, and having two kids by two different baby daddies. So for now she and her kids are staying with MJ.

So MJ goes to a hotel, and it turns out she invited David to meet her there...and he does. We learn that when they were together (before the show started) she was pregnant with his child. She had an abortion, and he didn't tell her not to. She says that his child should have been theirs, and he didn't disagree. He also never suggested he was with the other woman for any reason other than he wanted his child to have both parents together. They start to mess around, but she stops him. She falls asleep and wakes up to a note from David that just says, "I'm sorry."
