Scandal Recap - Season 4, Episode 11

"Where's the Black Lady?" (Hey Ms. Gibbs, Hey girl, hey! SN: Notice her character's name is Rose, like her neighbor on 227. )

So in this episode Fitz, Jake, and the remaining Gladiators (Huck and Quinn) are all working to find Olivia (aka Helen of Troy). Fitz is pretty much on his own though, because it turns out Andrew, the Vice President, is behind the kidnapping and has planted people to watch Fitz all over the White House. O...and they are bold enough to tell Fitz, and then demand he goes to war in West Angola! Fitz manages to tell Mellie and eventually Cyrus, but does in fact send troops to West Angola (RIP).

Jake and the Gladiators are hitting dead ends until Rose (Marla Gibbs) comes looking for the Black lady that has a key to her friend's apartment (Olivia's neighbor). So they go check out the neighbor's home and find some clues (like Olivia's ring that she purposefully left behind). However, the kidnappers are way ahead of them and can't be tracked.

Back at the White House, Fitz gets a video of Olivia, who creatively asks for a glass of water to get a reflection of her kidnapper in the video. Thanks to some hints from Tom (who had the audacity to ask for a presidential pardon for his crime of killing the president's son...or as he put it sacrificing a boy for a man or something like that...DENIED) Fitz was able to figure out a place where he could secretly meet Jake (Olivia's bedroom). He gives Jake a copy of the video. But even then, they really get no where.

At the same time, Huck is apparently torturing Elizabeth North to get information out of her, since she wanted the war in Angola. When she reveals to Mellie the grisly things Huck has done to her back, Mellie decides to step in. She sleeps with Andrew again, and while he's sleep, she takes both of his cell phones and then delivers them to the Gladiators. They are able, with the help of Rosen and a warrant for a drug bust, to find the location where Olivia was and go in to rescue her. Buuuuut....

Olivia, being the intelligent woman that she is, surmises the following:
1) Her kidnapper is not in charge ("He used the word "they" instead of "I"...same power position maneuver she discovered with her original kidnappers...meh...)
2) Since she's seen their faces, they plan on killing her (though he tells her that won't be for another three years after Fitz' term is over)
3) Her kidnapper can be easily manipulated into doing her bid (Guess he wants to be a "boss" and not a "babysitter" lol)

So she convinces him to doll her up and sell her on the black market, giving Fitz an opportunity to bid, as well.

So Fitz gets a call about his bidding options, Olivia is showered with straightened hair on a private jet with her kidnapper, and Jake walked into the empty cell that used to hold Olivia.

Too smart for her own good?? Hmmm...

I will say one thing...at least this episode was bit less predictable.
